East Lifestyle, Bangalore needs no introduction in the genre of bespoke customized statement pieces in furniture. Currently located in the upmarket Koramangala neighborhood, they have been around for almost a decade and a half. The launch of their ecommerce website along with a few new additions to their line of products was recently held in much fanfare at their store in the presence of media and socialites.

Although I missed this gala event, I dropped by a week later to the store to experience their offerings in person. Aparajita, one of the partners with East Lifestyle along with Kabir, their co-founder took me through the various products in display. As already mentioned, East Lifestyle specializes in statement pieces and custom designed furniture crafted with utmost excellence. Most of their pieces are unique to the client’s orders and are delivered a few weeks post order. The furniture ranged from custom designed chairs to sofa sets, cabinets, beds, dressing tables, and bar units. I was specifically impressed with the Tollygunge Leather Wing Chair inspired by traditional colonial seats from my childhood memories of Kolkata. Another one which caught my eye was definitely their piece du resistance – a Dining table aptly titled the Pablo Slab Live Edge carved from a single piece of wood.

East lifestyle has also collaborated with independent designers and business owners to create a separate home furnishings range ranging from cushions, lamp shades, crockery and framed photographs. Each piece is unique and crafted exclusively for the brand. Products from Nurture India and Rangreli Arts are currently selling here.

Most of their furniture are antique pieces restored to perfection bearing unique colonial attributes. They remind one of the glorious bygones and are usually always in demand. All their furniture are shipped free of cost and are presently restricted to the states of Karnataka and Kerala with cities like Hyderabad, Mumbai, Pune, and Delhi – NCR.
