Fling -Koramangala's latest Rooftop Hangout
Chef Jinnu brings forth experience from some of the biggest names in hospitality brands to his credit. So when I was asked to drop by and cover his latest rooftop café, Excited was not the word. Located at one corner of the busy Jyothi Niwas College Road in Koramangala, this rooftop hangout is in the same building as the popular cult.fit gym and health spa. Spread over two floors, they serve the best in Indian, Asian and Continental delicacies along with Hookah in various flavours.
I was impressed with Chef Jinnu’s premier offering-the very aptly titled Gobi Bejule. This take on the popular snack Gobi Manchurian is a delight to taste buds. Next up was a very lavishly decorated East Meets West where crispy fried noodles were served in Tomato Salsa, a taste very reminiscent of the Indian Bhelpuri- and hence the name. This dish is a masterpiece in itself and needs to be experienced to justify its flavours. We followed our vegetarian flare with Chilli Garlic Potato, another lust worthy dish to drool over.
In the Non Vegetarian section, Chef’s take on the Andhra Chilli Chicken and the Buttermilk Chicken Popcorn needs special mention. The food here is simple, but divine in taste and presentation, something Signature to Chef Jinnu. The Salted Caramel Milkshake went well with these appetisers.
It was time to try the Mains and the obvious choices were Chicken Tikka Risotto and Chicken Stroganoff with Herb Butter Rice. It was tough for me to decide a clear winner between the two, but probably the Risotto deserves a higher appreciation for its presentation and aroma.
This evening was more of a pre-cursor and very soon a more official launch will follow with much noise and grandeur. We all had an amazing time chilling at this new hotspot in town, which is going to be the very big soon. Wishing Team Fling lots of luck and a big shout out to my friend Adam for this amazing opportunity.
