Drunkling-Not just another Restobar in Koramangala

The opening of a new pub or a restaurant in the busy Koramangala area has been quite an order of the day. Last week, I happened to visit one such recently opened Restobar which has garnered a niche position for itself in this area.

Drunkling, as it is popularly known has been in operation for almost 4 months now and is the brainchild of the very talented and perfectionist Dominic Savio. Having garnered a name for himself at venues like Tavern at the Museum Inn and more recently Hangover, Dominic binges forth his unique vision and identity to his latest offering spanning across four floors.

The Wild Thyme Restaurant is a Multi-Cuisine fine dining restaurant spread across the ground and the mezzanine specialising in Indian, Chinese and Continental cuisine. It is tough to find an empty table usually in the evenings here. Known extensively for their speciality Sizzlers, this is definitely worth a visit for the sizzler lovers. I was blown away by their Chicken Sizzler which was succulent and served with Mushroom sauce and a side order of mash. Their Sizzling Brownie is also another delicacy worth waiting for.

As you walk up to the first floor, the Restobar makes its presence felt with busy crowds enjoying a chilled out evening over drinks and bar bites. I was tempted to try the French Fries fully loaded (With Cheese, Jalapeno and Veggies) to go with my Vodka Soda. I also had the very unique Prawns Aglio Olio which was an absolute treat to my tatsetbuds. Its spicy notes went perfect with the alcohol and is definitely one of the most ordered appetisers in the menu.

The Restobar is followed by the main Pub-Drunkling located on the 2nd floor which also hosts live bands and an in-house DJ. The Fernandes duo was playing here that evening and their performances of the latest chart-toppers kept the crowd at their feet all night long. I ordered another round of appetisers while enjoying my drink and this time around it was the very popular Sweet Corn Masala satiating by taste buds. The Roast Chilly Pork reminded me of the Bamboo Shoots days at Museum Inn when we used to ask for it while grooving to rock tunes at Tavern back in the days. As the night progressed, the Spicy Chicken Pizza kept me going with its delectable taste and flavour. I was in food heaven and decided to skip desserts –although the Sizzling Brownie would be my choice anytime.

With 3 options to choose from and spread across 4 floors, Drunkling and Wild Thyme Restaurant caters to your every need of a successful night out. Although there are many pubs and clubs in Koramangala and in and around its vicinity, this place stands out because of its delectable cuisine and impeccable service offered by their attentive staff. My friend, Adam who handles Marketing and PR keeps the tempo of this venue up with his innovative ideas and events. Dominic makes sure old timers to places he was associated with earlier can enjoy the same dishes with the same warmth and flavour the way they remember them. After all, this is not just another pub or restobar, but an experience in drinking and dining-old Bangalore style.
