Posh Sunday Brunch @ The Park Plaza

Standing tall on Marathahalli Outer Ring Road junction and facing one of the biggest corporate establishments and Special Economic Zone is one of Bangalore’s finest destination for the corporate traveller, Park Plaza Bengaluru. Being primarily a business hotel within the vicinities of ITPL and Marathahalli, their clientele comprise of International and domestic clients visiting the city for corporate opportunities. Hence the look and feel of the property is contemporary urban chic interspersed with luminescent and pastel shades. As I walked into Melange, their 24 hours Coffee shop where the elaborate Sunday Brunch spread was laid out indoors and outdoors, I could not help but notice the pastel Green endorsing the walls and the furnishings. It creates a lively and welcoming atmosphere and wakes one up immediately from the grogginess of a late Saturday Night debauchery. The spreads indoors are mostly of Indian and Continental variety whereas the Thai and Asian Grills and Curries are spread outdoors in the porch on either sides.

I was welcomed personally by the Sales Head of the hotel, Siddhanth Verma and the Head Chef. Chef has had numerous experiences to share that are not only breath-taking but extremely motivating. He has cooked for the Prime Minister and imminent other personalities and it was a true honour to share the table with him. The spread spoke for itself with its exotic variety of fresh and rare produces handpicked by the chef himself and curated at their finest possible. I was mesmerized by the Salad counter and the Cold Cuts which made me crave for more. The baby Lamb Chops were my personal favourite in the Appetisers section and I made a few trips to satiate myself to the counter. The Maki Roll on the Sushi section was what enticed me most, given my personal bias towards Salmon. The spread comprised of a selection of delectable Turkish dips and delicacies and was an absolute delight to go with the baby pita breads and the Ciabattas. There was also a Breakfast station serving fresh Waffles and Pancakes including Eggs to order and Bacon. I was a big fan of the Cheese Platter comprising of the freshest Gouda and Mozzarella to pair with my plain crackers and Baguette. I also dug a tad into the Croissants and the Fresh Bakes section to try out the Muffins, and boy were they good! I paired this with a Signature Coconut Mojito, a speciality of the hotel and aptly suggested by Siddhanth.

I walked out into the Live Grill section and was taken aback by the assortment of the produce and the unique arrangement in which they were laid out. The Tava Boti with the Mughlai Paratha was a personal favourite and formed a significant part of my Mains. The Sea Food Grill with Prawns and Fish was next up in my list. I walked back right in to savour some of the Indian Mains laid pout tastefully in Copper handis across the counter. I tried the Kashmiri Pulao amd the oh so Bengali Machher Jhol. The Mah Ki Dal and the Arbi Masaladar were delectable and cooked to perfection. The Mutton Belle Ram formed the Final embellishment to my culinary journey before I receded to the much coveted Dessert section.

The Indian Mithai Platter and the Nutty Chocolate Cake caught my attention and the Financier was something unique that I tasted for the first time. My Dessert of selection is undoubtedly the Chocolate Tart that rendered me multiple foodgasma. The Icing on the cake was the Twining’s Trolley of Select Tea, reminiscent of Kolkata and the Colonial era which I secretly admire. An afternoon truly well spent in great company and good food at an uber chic business hotel in the city. A must visit for everyone.
