Conrad Bengaluru-Urban Luxury Redefined
My stay last week at Conrad Bengaluru was nothing short of an experience in uber urban luxury. To start, I must mention that the stay was part of my Hilton Dining Asia Pacific Membership Program and was paid for along with due membership fees. I was able to upgrade my category from a Standard Deluxe to an Executive Suite on the 24th floor of the hotel using the e-certificate provided in the app, and boy was it a view to die for!
It was a spacious suite room with dining facilities and an equally stunning bathroom with two WCs to its credit. I was impressed with the view overlooking the Ulsoor Lake and was torn between taking shots of it inside out. It was really cool to receive a personalized letter from Srijan Vadhera, the GM of Conrad along with an edible postcard of the hotel itself on my coffee table.
The drawing cum dining area is equipped with an 80 inch Television and a dining table for up to 4 guests. The bedroom comprised of a spacious king size bed with breath-taking views of the Ulsoor lake and the urban horizon. Looking at the city from up above 24 floors is a surreal experience and cannot be explained in words alone.
Being part of the Executive Suite facilities, we had access to the Executive Lounge on the 21st floor of the building and the view of the adjacent Prestige Hermitage is nothing less than a slice of modern architectural marvel. We were very cordially attended to by their staff at the Lounge, and in the graceful company of Shyamali our high tea was definitely memorable.
We decided to satiate the delicacies of Mangalore as part of the Mangalore Food Festival at their Coffee Shop Caraway Kitchen with Executive Chef Praveen Shetty stirring up his culinary extraordinaire. From Kori Gassi to Vegetable Gassi –Mangalore was served up on a plate for me, But it was definitely my special order-Prawn Ghee Roast with Neer Dose which stole the show. It was by far the most authentic Ghee roast I have ever tasted and was cooked home style.
Being not much of a Breakfast person, I decided to stick to basics like Turkey Bacon and Spanish omelette with a couple of slices of toast. It was time for me to head back to the room and enjoy its view before we checked out later on in the afternoon. The staff at Conrad is extremely well trained and are eager to cater to your every need, although some aspects of the Dining Membership App on the phone might pose some technical challenges feedback for which has been already passed across to the respective team for rectification. Ours stay was hassle free and uber luxurious in this superlative marvel of urban landmark at the heart of Bangalore. I am definitely looking forward to my next stay real soon as part of the Membership Program.
